“I would just like to say a big thank you to Simon!
I started running almost 3 years ago, having never run before in my life (nope, not even at school!) and have experienced a complete life change – I am addicted to running.
However, as I have become fitter and faster, I have been experiencing hip problems. Simon noticed my running photos on facebook and kindly took the time to drop me a message advising that heel strike was a big no no. To be honest, I didn’t even know what he was talking about, but after a very enlightening conversation, I came to realise that, if I was going to continue running I had to seriously change my technique. He introduced me to the “Pose” running method and I started to work on changing to this style of running.
A few weeks later, after lots of distance running to work on these changes….I am very happy to say that I am no longer heel striking. I now love running up hills (never ever thought I’d say that!) and have been getting pb’s every week at my running club! Oh, and almost forgot to mention…….my hip pain disappeared almost 2 weeks ago!!
So, I am extemely grateful to Simon for taking the time to give me this invaluable, expert advice.
